Born and raised in Kobe, Japan, I attended a missionary school from kindergarten to high school. Upon graduation from high school, I spent my first year of university at Occidental College in Los Angeles, Ca. and returned to Japan to continue my studies at Sophia University in Tokyo. 

After working 13 years in multinational companies in Japan and Alberta, Canada, I relocated to B.C. to join a Japanese real estate holding company to rezone and subdivide a large property. With the vision and support of the late Mayor Copeland and the staff at Burnaby City Hall, this subdivision served to rejuvenate the Edmonds/Kingsway corridor.

I also worked for private Japanese schools to create programs for their students at various school districts and private institutions in B.C. I have provided support for over 300 international students and homestay families from Abbotsford to West Vancouver.  

The North Shore has been home for Tom and our family since 1993.  Our two daughters attended St. Anthony's School in West Vancouver, and St. Thomas Aquinas High School in North Vancouver.
